It is insanity but that's what the ebay seller is charging. Does anyone have experience with the multicoloured ones? Why would anyone use the single colours rather than the multis if they are the same price and brightness? And how does the button work for colours and modes on the multis?

I'm aware. The shipping is $165 for one strobe. And they are misrepresenting the specs.

They don't ship to the UK. And even if they did they aren't so good that they are worth more than double the price.

They don't. No Firehouse products have dealers in the UK (or even Europe as far as I can tell). So I need the next best option I guess...

And I'm saying the number of LEDs is not necessarily relevant when the lumen output of an LED varies by several orders of magnitude. More information is required. Which is why I am asking. Especially when a VIFLY has only one green LED how can I tell whether that is brighter than a Strobon CREE...

Not all leds are equally bright. Not all strobon crees only contain one led. Does anyone have any direct experience?

I agree with you. It's not just disadventageous, it's often a dealbreaker in many situations.

For a lot of us the weight is way more of an issue than the volume.

Yes it's dozens of counties. It's also more than dozens of people. My point is there are tons of people buying it for its weight and portability.

I mentioned it at length in post 59. The point is all the other pilots shouldn't be punished just because some people in some jurisdictions are buying it solely for regulatory reasons.
