Because it will "take a picture" of where it took off, so it can come back "precisely" to the same spot.
You must also take off vertically to over 10m (so no pushing that right stick yet, only left stick up for a verticle climb)
I also tried to twist and turn mine .. but when it did'nt budge .. I did not force it.

DJI guy on one of the videos explained that this is to ensure we don't rush to land to quickly - as the shorter legs means the camera gimbal is very close to the ground. In other words - they make you stop and think .. before finally landing to ensure a "softer" landing.
