When you have an external charging source connected while flying, the power lights will show the charging cycle, not SC battery power remaining. I get at least 6 batteries flying out of one full SC charge. Maybe you need to replace the SC battery....not a complicated DIY job....check out...

Would a factory reset make sense? Not sure myself, but it is an option. Others' thoughts?

That is why I use a velcro cinch strap around my M2P and do the battery spin test on my granite countertop.

Can it fly? Makes it useful for multi-level homes. 👍✈️

That might mean the battery was swelling and not making good contact with the power pins and possibly higher resistance, hence the heat. Just my uneducated guess.

As I have mentioned in the past, I fly mostly in rural areas (NE of Toronto) as I am into landscape panoramas. Those few times I fly in the city, I fly in parks with the city's prior agreement....it tends to attract mostly the curious. I can only recall once being approached by a know it all...

If you are challenged remembering, set up your phone to video the disassembly....a bit extra work but avoids left over assembly hardware.
