Drone pilots refuse to be grounded by The Villages FL

Unless I missed something, this thread isn't about police, pot, evidence in court, airplanes or looking over fences. Perhaps those issues can start a new thread. It seems that OP is primarily saying that a Fl law barring drone operators from taking pics or videos of private citizens or private...

Drone pilots refuse to be grounded by The Villages FL

Appears there are two issues here. Seems very clear that the FAA controls all US airspace and establishes every drone pilot's right to fly over private property. Not sure FAA mentions a right to video or take pictures. I wonder if there might be a lawyer member among us who could share an...

i lost my drone in a tree, 76 feet up in a tree, help!

For $119, an arborist pole style sling shot should do the trick. You first shoot a strong string, and once that's around a high branch, you pull up a rope. Amazon https://a.co/d/2Oolwfn

How flying a drone led to an arrest....

Mavic3usa said, "I welcome anyone to show me the legal FL state statute or the city or county ordinance or even the University code that would support these charges. Ok..... Gadgetguy gave it to us... Florida Statutes § 901.151. Florida Stop and Frisk Law. " Whenever any law enforcement...

Best drone for measuring accuracy of steel beams on construction site?

I admire the op's interest in looking into all of the possibilities. Precise drone taken measurements almost has to be possible if you are willing to invest a lot of time and money. Let's say you invest a few $ thousand on the low side, or more, and actually come up with measurements. Who...

Best drone for measuring accuracy of steel beams on construction site?

There's a standard solution for this that doesn't include drones. It's called an approved set of building drawings stamped by engineers and architects, and site visits. Engineers and architects routinely make site visits while jobs are underway to assure conformity to plans. It's their job...

Mini 2 Hover testing in 35 MPH turbulent winds

Slup is 100% right. The flags represent approx 15-20mph winds, and were perhaps filmed at a different location or time than the flight. We licensed regular aircraft pilots, and many drone pilots who fly in high wind areas like the Obx in Nc, (made famous by the Wright Bros) know high winds...

No CCCPDA language in the 2025 NDAA!!!

First, let's hope this is enacted by the Senate and signed by the president without alteration. Then it seems the key will be what this security agency defines as a risk, and if the staff at this agency acts in good faith, with no hidden agenda. So yes, if this likely framework is adopted...

No CCCPDA language in the 2025 NDAA!!!

This has been posted by gogorokokoko as a link, so I thought laying out the text might help. This describes the 12 month review outlined in the House version of the NDAA section 1709, and if adopted, the DJI and Autel products will specifically evaluated. If the not yet named US security...

Mini 3 Pro obstacle avoidance - not!

Surely it's frustrating to see your drone stuck at 35' but not be able to reach it. Not every tree climber has $600 minimum. I know at least 3 which don't. Maybe next time, if there is one, you can get multiple quotes, as that price was " as high as a Georgia Pine."

Mini 3 Pro obstacle avoidance - not!

Ordinary tree climbers used spikes and a loop rope to scale trees. No hydraulic equipment needed. Perhaps $10 might cover a typical climb in Brazil but in the US, I'd guess $100 as a minimum. $600 sounds like enough to cut some trees to the ground!

    Police aiming laser/rifle at drone

I'm on the side of the drone pilot, however any officer can tell you that in his view, you are interfering. Sure you can bring up the constitution and you'd probably be right. In the meantime is it worth being "right" and getting arrested, because then you may be going to jail, and you might...

    Police aiming laser/rifle at drone

As Amann suggested, there are laws in every state against interfering with a police officer in the performance of his duties. I'm not on the policeman's side but I do know for sure that if you tug on Superman's cape, you'll likely regret it. Being perhaps technically right is one thing, but...
