I thought the Avata 2 was supposed to be a bit tougher than this...

It definitely wasn't the flying too close to the ground that was the issue. Or even under the bridge. I thought I had enough room over that tree...until I didn't. :D Yup, be careful flying over water. Especially with trees around. The biggest question is that I still don't know why the...

I thought the Avata 2 was supposed to be a bit tougher than this...

Unfortunately this is only my third flight out of beginner mode. And the very first crash. It lasted only about a minute.:rolleyes: That was the entire video. As soon as it hit the branch the transmission stopped instantly. I've seen videos of worse crashes than that and the video...

How many here dont know how to fly?

Unless of course you're running an Avata 2 with the Motion Controller. It's not "real" FPV but I like it. It's what I can imagine an airplane control stick acts like. :)

New Avata 2 and I've got an issue with transmission to Goggles 3

@Cafguy the thing is I actually wasn't connected from the goggles to my phone at the time the error popped up. The first time I flew at my house after activation/setup I don't remember it popping up. Then a week later I took it my sons house and the error popped up right away and I couldn't...

New Avata 2 and I've got an issue with transmission to Goggles 3

Are you saying there is an FPV section on this Mavic Pilots forum? If so could you direct me there since I'm too blind to see it? 😄 I'll wait to do the factory reset to see if maybe the transmission issue resolves itself. I had the "connect to DJI Fly outdoors" error pop up again yesterday...

New Avata 2 and I've got an issue with transmission to Goggles 3

First I'll say that I'm kind of surprised that there's no dedicated forum section for the Avata/FPV drones like there is for other DJI drones. It would make it easier to share info like this. But to the problem at hand. I've just flown my new Avata 2 3 times so far so I don't know if this is...

    So angry with DHL

I ordered an Avata 2 on Dec 23rd directly from the DJI site and it arrived on Dec 26th. Shipped via DHL with no hassles. I'm still "waiting" on the Avata 2 I ordered from the DJI store on Amazon on Nov 26th to show up. 😡 the tracking information still says that it was shipped but is likely...

    Good deal or scam?

definitely a scam. Ordered the avata 2 at a good discount on nov 26th. I was told to expect delivery by dec 12th. then on the 12th it was changed to be expected on the 18th. I waited a couple of days after just to be sure then went to do a refund. That's when I found that a supposed refund had...

Wearing glasses with the Avata 2 type goggles (Goggles 3 I think...)

    Any links to reputable sites?

Wearing glasses with the Avata 2 type goggles (Goggles 3 I think...)

Any idea who would or how to do something like that? I'm not sure an average optician would know what would be necessary either since I'm sure it's a fairly niche market. But I could be wrong. 🤷‍♂️ Or maybe it's time to try contact lenses again. 😆

Wearing glasses with the Avata 2 type goggles (Goggles 3 I think...)

I've never flown any type of FPV and the new Avata 2 looks very enticing. :) But I wear glasses and have a fairly strong + (far sighted) prescription so there's no way that using the goggles without corrective lenses of some type will be possible. My understanding is that there is a small +...

    Nuclear batteries for drones?

Wouldn't just the shielding required to keep it "safe" to be around make it prohibitively heavy to do much with? It works well for space craft because 1 - there's nobody around to get blasted with a dose of radiation that emits from the battery and 2 - weight is only really a concern on...

3 Snow Day in Middle Tennessee

They make hunting gloves that either have the entire finger area covered with a flip-back mitten or the trigger finger only has a flip-back cover. That way you can use your fingers but you can still flip it over to warm back up easily. they even have pockets to put in handwarmers too. :)

    Inches From Disaster

did you, with a completely straight face, literally just compare the person who needlessly put himself in completely unnecessary danger for the "perfect video shot" to the people in the military who bravely conquered space (or at least our small part of it)? really?...REALLY? Yup, this...

    Inches From Disaster

If someone wants to be ... un-smart ... and do things that will (likely seriously) hurt themselves then that's on them. At least until regulators get involved to try to protect people from themselves. Which is where almost every safety initiative/rule came from, btw ("Jackass the Movie" but in...
