The external antennas are for video transmission when using goggles. Doesn't sound like you need it.
You might want to compare the price of the combo against just buying the drone and a spare battery or two (since you already have a controller).

I picked up a Neo 2 motion fly more combo for my wife. It really is a fun little drone. You get a lot for your money.
I agree. The flight time is the most significant limitation, but it's definitely the most bang for the buck of all the drones I've seen. The camera is amazing.
