    Airport Security

I have flown from Australia to Europe on several occasions with my Mavic packed in my check in luggage with no issues whatsoever. I had it packed inside its carry pack and in close to a hard edge surrounded by clothes. As for batteries, it helps to have them packed in a purpose made battery...

    Newby

You could take it back to where you got it from and if it's a reputable place, it'll get sent to DJI in Melbourne for a nominal cost and it will be repaired under DJI's quality control processes. You could also send it to Rise Above (Rise Above | Buy Commercial DJI Drones & Custom Drone...

I added a second battery to the controller

A battery bank is a good idea. I have a solar powered battery charger I use for phones and it also charges the remote. I would challenge on having it attached to the controller whilst flying. Wouldn't it be preferable to have your controller lean and clean? After all, one flight is not going to...

    Battery flight (20-25 minutes)

Multiple batteries is an essential, particularly if you pre-plan your flights. If your flight is not going as you had initially planned and need to re-do it, you need to return home and you don't want to restart the mission on a half depleted battery. A couple of points you should remember as...

    Anemometer Handheld Wind Speed Meter

There are many ways you can interpret atmospheric conditions that do not require a technological approach. In my experience we had to learn how to interpret what nature was trying to tell us. We were given no tools, only our senses and instincts which our instructors patiently taught us how to...

    Anemometer Handheld Wind Speed Meter

Watch the trees. Especially the tall ones. Good indication of wind strength. Knowing the wind direction is good too. If you're gonna fly, you're better off doing your away leg against the wind, then you won't have the worry of working against the wind on a depleted battery.

hy guys my name is mike

Get yourself a USB solar powered battery charger. There's enough charge in that to completely charge the controller plus plenty more and even more if you keep it pointed to direct sunlight. If you ever find yourself with a low battery on your controller, you can use it away from electrical...

Mavic Crash in Australia. Quick repair support?

If you're going to be in Sydney there's a company in the south west called Rise Above. They do repairs but I'm not sure how long they will take and if they have the parts needed (I know they're pretty well stocked) to do the repairs. They're a bit off the beaten track in a suburb called Smeaton...

Care to share what you named your Mavic?

My first Mavic was called Nugget but the one I bought to replace it is called Sinead. I bought it when I was holidaying in Ireland.

    New "To the Mavic"

The Mavic works perfectly fine using the Android however, when using the DJI 4 Go app, it crashes every 5 minutes on mine. I have read on many forums that this is a common occurrence but not one to be too alarmed by. You simply restart the app, it does not affect the flight dynamics of the...
