Serious bug in the Mavic's "Home Point Me" function - caused loss of drone!

This problem has been going on for a while and I thought DJI updated the firmware to solve the problem. Don't know if you have the same problem as others but it's got to the point that you have to monitor where the home point is all the time, just in case.

Serious bug in the Mavic's "Home Point Me" function - caused loss of drone!

Congratulations "finlayson" for bringing a confirmed bug to DJI's attention and getting your MP replaced. Let's hope they fix this in their next update. I refrained from posting earlier in this thread as I didn't have anything to add after you explained exactly what happened and it appeared to...

New Mavic Pro Platinum Combo Owner

You'll get a lot of help here, people are generally friendly. IMO The most important thing to do as a beginner is to stay above 100' (or the highest object around your area). Most accidents by newbies are caused by running into something like trees or their branches which are hard to see...

Neighbor Hates Drone Questions for You Guys and Gals?

It may be a model aircraft but it is still an aircraft because "it flies through the air with or without the greatest of ease." And the FAA does class it as an aircraft and that's the reason they are gung-ho about regulating hobby "aircraft" and are lobbying congress to change the exemption...

Neighbor Hates Drone Questions for You Guys and Gals?

I BINGED it because I don't use the Gargle (sic) search and it is something that looks like it could be abused easily. Bad manners is not not a criminal or mental illness offense. Besides the problem with his neighbor sounds like ***** envy. My neighbor has this problem and confiscated my first...

    The prodigal drone has returned!!!

I've been using LItchi 98% of the time when flying Phantom 3A and now with the Mavic and only had one problem whether just flying free style FPV or sending it off up to 3 miles away in my rural area. She always comes home after completing the missions. The one time where it had a big problem...

    Android Ipad 4 replacement

I didn't like the "feel" of having the Note 4 or the Shield K1 forced into the Mavic bracket so I just used strips of Velcro both on top of the Mavic brackets and the bottom of the devices in a position that felt better and the Velcro holds great. But I finally bought the MavMount device for...

    Android Ipad 4 replacement

What's new? The elitism of the "Fruity Fanboys" knock Android in every forum on the net. It's like the fruit company has some kind of hypnotic suggestion built in that causes them to go on a fruity crusade against any other computer system invented (or will ever be invented). The best thing...

    Novelty has warn off quickly

I just received the CrystalSky Monitor, 7.85" version and after flying with it today in the bright sun and using the bottom half of the Hoodman sun shield I already had for the Nvidia Shield tablet I was in 7th heaven. Finally I can see a monitor in the bright sun. I'm an old dude and when it's...

Having seconds thoughts clicking buy it now

Try an app called "ShutApp" and run it right before you fly. It shuts down all background apps that may (or may not) be using assets on the phone or tablet. It's amazing the things still running after shutting them down. I usually run ShutApp then reboot and check ShutApp again to see if...

    Age poll

I'm 74 and have been flying DJI since the Phantom. The Mavic is my favorite though. It does all I want or need to do and a lot easier than RC fixed wing which I've flown for 40 years. I also have a PPL.

    Question about Litchi

If you remove the default opening in Settings/Applications for Go4 and Litchi then when you connect the USB it should give you a choice, make your choice and click on "just this time only" or something like that. If you always do that it will stop it from trying to open one or the other. Since...

Does anyone wish they didn't buy the "fly more" bundle?

I took it out of the box looked at it and put it back in the box. I prefer to have something that I can carry all the "stuff" I might need on a shoot rather than having to drive back for something I may have forgot. I use the metal cases from Amazon for the Mavic and the Spark. The Spark case...

Anyone use the MavMount for iPad?

Do you have a link to that request form? I ordered the 7.5" Crystal Sky the other day from the DJI store and they said my shipping date was July 30th. If it's like other products from the DJI site it may show up September if I'm lucky. :) Edited to add: Just ordered a clamp for an old...

Always forgetting to remove the **** gimbal lock

I connected one of those "Remove Before Flight" ribbons I had for something else by drilling a tiny hole in the holder. But I don't put the holder on anymore unless I'm going on a road trip or out in the boat. The gimbal gets more shaking flying that in the car driving down the road anyway.
