I would be concerned with the soot and whatever else might be suspended in the smoke getting into the drone and if not harming components inside, clogging the air intakes, etc. If I were to fly near a forest fire I would do it from several miles away.

I did the same thing and have had zero problems. I wouldn't worry about it and fly on!

Finally have my custom insert for a Pelican 1510 case. Took a bit of doing and I've still got a couple tight fits that I'm working on with mycadebuilder.com, but overall I'm pleased with how everything fits. Probably added too many battery holes, but you never know!

Good point, thank you. I threw new blades on last night and it seemed to perform fine. I did have a drop out of connection for the first time, but it restored a few seconds later.

I can see how it could, don't know that it's a matter of fact thing though based on my experience tonight. This was MY fault, I never lost connection or had any GPS errors, etc. Now, this was a short bridge so it may not have had enough time to get into trouble electronically.

I have designed a custom insert for a Pelican 1510 case from mycasebuilder.com and hope to get it this week. I've got room for all that you mentioned plus a total of ten batteries. I'll post pics when I get it.

And are the DJI or a third party brand? I've seen some folks have some real trouble with the cheaper ones.
