I thought I had plenty of reserve to return...and the forced landing warning was inducing panic

I wouldn't mind comparing it's flight time compared to other known good batteries. Looking at the difference in speeds there and back, it just seemed to drain faster than it should have.

The last time I will ever use ebay for selling a drone

If a minor family member made the order and you claim you didn't authorise it, I would have thought you would have to return the item before you get a refund.

The last time I will ever use ebay for selling a drone

Are you sure you sent it to the buyers registered address or did he contact you where to send it?

The last time I will ever use ebay for selling a drone

If he left positive feedback for a drone it’s clear his “account” made the purchase. If he won the case, the only thing I can think of is that he would have said someone else made the purchase using his account. But then there is the mystery of you sending the item to his registered address. I...

The last time I will ever use ebay for selling a drone

Surely when you make a purchase on EBay there is a record that you did so on their end. Otherwise everyone would dispute purchases. How can the buyer dispute that he didnt make the purchase if he in fact did? EBay wouldn’t just refund the buyer just because he “says” he didn’t. I think there is...

Urgent Help required.Returning to home issues with Dji mavic Pro

I was thinking if the front sensors are falsely detecting something and you are at the maximum set height, the drone can’t rise to go over the obstacle so it just hovers instead of RIngTH as the OP explained.

Don’t recommend it. Always buy new.

    Battery hibernation?

The batteries can stay unused in storage for a very long time ( many years) without damage provided they are stored at the correct voltage. 40-60% capacity roughly, according to DJI. The problem with second hand is you don't know if this has been done. You don't know if the batteries have been...

How I hand catch the Mavic without fighting sensors on...

I fly with the landing sensors off so hand catching is not much of an issue for me. One thing I don't like doing is hand catching at eye level. If something goes wrong for any reason your eyes are the first thing the props will hit. I like to bring the drone as low as possible while still being...

I thought I had plenty of reserve to return...and the forced landing warning was inducing panic

60km/h on the way there and 45-50km/h on the way back doesn’t sound like the wind was all that strong compared to how fast the battery went down on the return trip. How old is the battery and it’s general performance during other flights? Maybe worth checking. Glad you got it back.

    Annoying Wind Warnings

No I wasn't. Calm down bud. I was explaining that you rely on the Mavic to tell you when there is high wind, which means by the time it tells you, you would be already in the dangerous situation. I am in the process of trying to change the wind warnings in assistant. What we are discussing here...

    Annoying Wind Warnings

Hold on mate. I said I use apps, forecasts and my own observations. You are the one saying you rely on the Mavic to tell you of dangerous wind, which means you are already in it. Answer this then- There is a MASSIVE gale blowing above some tall trees, buildings or just high altitude. Strong...

    Annoying Wind Warnings

You obviously haven’t read the whole thread. It’s common knowledge that wind is generally stronger, higher from ground level. As drone flyers we should know that. Don’t you think those same tree tops would be blowing around and giving off sound if it was windy above them? Do you really think...

Maintaining Intelligent Flight Batteries according to DJI

You won’t do anything that bad if you discharge down to 5%. It won’t go into hibernation. Just make sure to charge it to storage as soon as possible. Saying that, don’t make a habit of discharging so low if you want to maximise the life of the battery,

Maintaining Intelligent Flight Batteries according to DJI

Do you mean the RC or the drone battery? The RC charges roughly 1% per minute. The drone battery takes about 50 mins from 38% (storage) to 100%. Just on the RC. I rarely fully charge this as I also want to store it at about 38% after use. I estimate how long I will fly for and charge that...
