I use cross dissolves almost exclusively (In Davinci Resolve). Straight cuts seem a bit jarring to me, and all the other transitions (like wipes) just look cheesy.

Dr. Drone did an excellent, fast, and cheap repair on my Mini 2 a couple of years ago, after it fell it into a lake upon clipping a branch.

That's exactly what I do. It works like a charm and is way easier than the thing that comes with the drone.

The Fly app requires a 64-bit processor in the phone to run. If you have a cheap prepaid phone then it might have a 32-bit processor, which will not work with the Fly app. I submit that this is the problem. It happened to me with my Galaxy S5 Neo some time ago.

I have used the front view when the camera is pointed straight down and there is some concern about what lies ahead. It's pretty low-rez but good enough.

This is good info. You also have to be careful in the horizontal plane if, for example, waypoints 2 and 3 were close to a cliff face or building. The spline curve could cross into something solid. I wonder how obstacle avoidance would handle this?

You can change the gimbal angle by touching the display until the gimbal scale appears (takes second or so) and then sliding on the display to either raise or lower the camera. It's easy to get to -90 degrees , because the gimbal stops there, but less easy to get to exactly 0 degrees quickly.

I'm not sure AE lock has any meaning in pro mode. The exposure is essentially locked because you set the parameters explicitly. The only reason to lock the exposure is if the camera is automatically trying to do stuff that you don't want it to do, like in auto mode.
