Got reported and a call from the FAA

I think the poster gets the idea without all of that.

Got reported and a call from the FAA

I think the answer is practicality. The drone pilot is in the far better position to respond to the heli than the other way around and must take the responsibility. Aircraft speed, field of view, it all adds up. I don't like it but it is what it is. Experiencing it firsthand is quite harrowing...

How do you feel about launching from parking lots and sidewalks?

Tried this today from the bed of my Ram 1500 - it DID throw off my Mini 2's compass calibration. Pulled it out, sat on ground, and it was all okay.

(waves from 45 minutes north) A local! Howdy from San Marcos! Some really nice scenery to catch is along US281 and SH12 & SH32 on the Devil's Backbone and around Canyon Lake. I was doing the drive Sunday and just pulled over on a scenic overlook at late sunset. Would have been amazing in daytime!

    Howdy from Texas!

Originally from Dallas but now in beautiful Hill Country! Always been interested in drones, even built a small LEGO one that I frequently (okay, constantly) crashed but cost has kept me away from something serious. Was at McKinney Falls State Falls one day and saw a guy pull out a tiny one and...

Working - Am I splitting hairs or is this a problem?

I think he got the point, y'all... ;-)> Second vote for Drone Institute. I've used Greg's stuff to prepare and feel very ready for the test on Monday. He's got a good set of flash cards as an app as well. Went slow due to existing day job and took a month for it. You'll also find some other...
