    Tripod mount?

I had wondered what the practicalities would be of using the MA2 as a simple gimbal-stabilised hand-held camera. I wonder what the battery life is like without the motors running.

    Cumbernauld, Scotland

Much of Outlander is actually filmed in Cumbernauld, all the studio work is.

    VLOS ?

Most places have exemptions for law enforcement and EMS aircraft too. And don't forget that military pilots pretty much make the rules up as they go.

    UK Airspace permissions

There are a lot of anomalies between the two. My local airport (mostly helicopters and a small flying school) is not even yellow on DJI Fly, but on it has the full red zone around it's FRZ / CTZ which covers nearly half of my town. I find the NATS app a bit unhelpful in a few ways too, it can...

Has anyone really put the Mavic Air 2 through some serious wind conditions? Because I just did..

I saw the test in a video review where a guy blasted it with his leaf blower. His anemometer showed 52mph at the blower's nozzle. From about 2 feet away the MA2 was all over the place, but was not blown away. I suspect the video footage from it would make you seasick! He repeated it on a Mini...

dji fly app not saving low resolution photos in cache ?

My Samsung Galaxy S10 is not saving pics in a cache either. I didn't know that it should.

    Flying Permissions in Restricted Airspace

Has anyone ever gained permissions from an airfield / airport to fly in their FRZ or ATZ? I envisage them just flexing their muscles and being all jobsworthy. I'm thinking more local airfields such as Cumbernauld, Perth, Oban, etc. Also the military low-fly zone of the West Highlands. I would...

    Flying in Scotland

It's only relevant to England, Wales and NI. In Scotland the Outdoor Access Code applies. Basically unless you're in an air traffic restricted zone then you're good so long as you're not damaging property or upsetting wildlife or livestock. Generally in rural Scotland, Wheaton's Law applies...

    Stock Carrying Case

The bag you linked to looks great, but it doesn't have space for my sandwiches ? , or my dog's water bottle.

    Stock Carrying Case

What about a new backpack? I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Camera-Daypack-Backpack-Accessories/dp/B00WQTLB0G/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=evecase&qid=1591126316&sr=8-2&tag=mavicpilots-20 It's not under $50, but it is under $100. I like being able to configure it for either...

    Mavic Air 2 - Skins

Your ID can be inside the battery compartment, as long as there are no tools required to access it. It doesn't need to be outside.

    Drone Newbie from Scotland

There is an app from the Civil Aviation Authority called Drone Assist. It has a load of information on restricted areas and other hazards.

    1st flight debrief

I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Evecase-Camera-Daypack-Backpack-Accessories/dp/B00WQTLB0G/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=evecase&qid=1591126316&sr=8-2 Well I bought the UK-based version but that's the US link. I like how either the top or the bottom can be configured for the MA2 or my SLR...

    Flying over ships

Could the ship have had a surface-scanning radar system? If it was ocean going then this is likely. At only 40m up you'd definitely be in its wave. Or maybe it was the AIS transponder (less likely I think)?

    Any Scots? Check in here

Hi folks. I'm new to this, MA2 ordered which is, allegedly, currently on a plane from Shenzen to Glasgow. Based in Cumbernauld and looking forward to getting out and about again soon, at least being stuck locally will give me time to learn how to fly.
