Seriously .... then all you US 336 hobby pilots flying BVLOS, above 400 feet AGL, and at night are following the 107 FAA rules? I think not. You fly within your rules as a 336. The same as if I want to do a job at night as a 107 I have to apply for a night waiver. No worries as Part 349 will...
I'm no lawyer .... if you are a 107 you are flying under FAA rules. As a 336 (soon to be extinct and replaced by 349) you are flying hobby rules .... which states "Follow community-based safety guidelines and fly within the programming of a nationwide community-based organization " ... NOT FAA...
Flying into tight spaces was part of the curriculum I taught. Risk mitigation is another subject the FAA teaches here in the USA. Every pilots actions have consequences. I have landed in back yards to pick up passengers .... but wow that was tight quarters!!! Every flight in a piloted aircraft...
Did you have your FAA numbers written on the drone? I put mine on each battery with my phone number on a printed label .... and on the drone. An honest person can then get it back to you.
I am old school lipo and always fly several flights at no lower than 50% on new batteries to "condition" them and build trust in them. Electronics do strange things when the proper voltage is not available. Sorry for your loss!
In the "old days" we always conditioned a new lipo for around 6 flights by not going below 3.95 volts per cell (what we called 50% back then) and recharging back to full. We built up faith in the battery. Now you all expect them to perform flawlessly right out of the box. My bet is a battery...
I meant to say do not use more than 80% capacity of a battery. I deleted my original post to not add confusion. The 80% rule for lipos has been around for a long time.
Did you download DJI Assistant 2 to a PC and upgrade your firmware on aircraft, controller, batteries .... then do IMU, compass, and remote calibrations? If NO .... then that is your problem. Also are you using DJIGo4 app latest update? It isn't going to fly correctly right out of the box.
I left my gimbal clamp on for the first time today .... for about 60 seconds. I am ordering one of these gimbal locks and cover single piece units .... as it seems so much easier to have one cover that serves both functions of protecting and locking. DJI Mavic Pro - Gimbal Lock
