The issue is your compass on your phone is not calibrated correctly. Rotate your phone and controller in all 3 axis and you will find that the position of the aircraft is then correct. I have to do this almost every time I connect my phone to controller.

Open Gallery, click on Albums, click on three dots at top, select Hide or unhide albums, choose albums you don't want to show up in your Gallery. Done

I've had my Samsung S7 do the same multiple times. Before I take off, I rotate the controller with the phone attached in multiple directions, all axis, to calibrate the phone compass and the radar then looks good.

The plastic blocks the power switch from being pushed. The only way to turn on the power is remove the cover.

I think you've got the 'function button' and the 'c button' backwards. Check to make sure you actually changed the one you thought you did.
