Long range fliers - share your tips of flying long range?

That's my favorite way to do longer flights. I launch, then follow the drone, walking along behind it as it flies, trying to stay not too far away from it.

Long range fliers - share your tips of flying long range?

Funny-- after reading your post about how you love to fly long range, I thought that I'm probably your exact opposite. I love flying short-range! Most of my flights are quite tame and "conservative" in that regard. I just feel more secure, the closer my drone is to me. I suppose my ideal...

5 reasons not to fly a drone.

Haha! Double meanings! ;) I didn't realize there was a link to an article. The short article is good... Yet I wonder if the author of the article realized that another and amusingly relevant meaning is alluded to by the photo in the article. The five reasons not to fly a drone, being your...

5 reasons not to fly a drone.

It took me a moment but then I got it. 🥹

    Mini4Pro vs Air 2 s

If you don't have any other drones than the Mini 3 at present, if I were in your shoes I would definitely go for the Air 2S or Air 3 rather than the Mini 4, because of the greater ability of the larger drones to handle wind. Overall I prefer the smaller drones because I can carry them more...

    It’s Over.

Flying more "conservatively" or "cautiously" might help minimize risks of crashing. Knock on wood, I have not yet had a crash or even so much as a damaged propeller. That said, I do not fly nearly as often as I get the sense many do in this hobby. (Eg, 1-3x a month, not once a week or every...

    Youtube videos

I totally agree with your analysis, about how things ought to be, but I am not sure that this is how "commercial use" is interpreted or viewed in a technical sense at the moment. Eg see in this article by Pilot Institute, What Does the FAA Consider as Commercial Drone Use? - Pilot Institute...

    Youtube videos

You don't have to put your drone videos up as unlisted, if you do not receive money from your YouTube channel. As far as I'm aware, you can have public videos of drone flights on YouTube without a part 107 if your channel does not provide you any money. You'd know if your YouTube channel...

Excessive High Altitude Warnings on Mini 3 Pro

It's really helpful to know the max heights over sea level for the 2 types of batteries. Thanks! I wouldn't have guessed the difference in height ceiling when using the 2 types of batteries would have been so great. I do at times get up to 9000 or even quite occasionally to 11,000 feet on hikes...

Excessive High Altitude Warnings on Mini 3 Pro

Thanks... based on what Yorkshire Pud posted about the Mini 3 Pro height limit, I was generally not over 9000 ft elevation, but at one time during the trip, I was at around 9800 to 9900 feet elevation, so I suppose if I had the "intelligent flight battery plus" installed, instead of the...

Excessive High Altitude Warnings on Mini 3 Pro

Thanks, it does make sense that the heavier drone would be able to handle higher altitudes more easily. So you're saying that this is normal and to be expected, and it's not really a problem that all these warnings show up for the Mini 3? It wasn't actually a problem for me during the flight...

Excessive High Altitude Warnings on Mini 3 Pro

I took a trip to the High Sierras region in California a few months ago, and flew both a DJI Mini 3 Pro and a DJI Mavic 3 at high altitudes, eg over 8000 or over 9000 feet elevation above sea level. With the Mavic 3, I got no "high altitude" warnings at all, but when I later looked at the flight...

Flying my Air 2S ... and another pilot launching his Mavic 3 at the same time! A discussion on deconfliction

I would think it could be pretty hard, if one is flying over a city in any manner, to be sure not to fly over a single moving vehicle or any people outside....unless you have the camera pointed down to see what is below.

    DJI Mini 3

Yours is the 2nd post I've read on here in a short while, of someone regretting selling one of their drones. I believe some people may sell a drone because they think they are "supposed to" do that when they get a new one...but I advise against it. If the drone performs well and you've enjoyed...
