No warranty for malfunctions at night

I'd like to see that motor pod and props. Feel bad for that guy, but... that video looks like every time I've hit a stupid, invisible dangler. It's all great until it isn't. I wonder if a frozen motor would cause the same response? Anyone ever try flying on less than four turning?

    Android Changing Rules About Apps

Do you know for a fact DJI left, and wasn't forced? I wasn't around when they left the market space. And, I haven't seen anything that says they have an interest in bending the knee to google on this topic. Be really easy to drop a quick message from DJI High Command saying for android users...

    Android Changing Rules About Apps

That's how I was reading it. Eagerly awaiting the weaponized autists to find a workaround. So tired of companies increasingly telling me what I can do with a thing I gave them money for. That's the end of our relationship, far as I am concerned unless I reach out.

    Android Changing Rules About Apps

here is the non-paywalled version of the article: https://archive.is/3dEXx If DJI refuses to play ball with them, and the things will update and not allow non-verified apps... But, perhaps I am missing something or reading it wrong.

Telnet from Android phone to Mavic Mini remote controller over USB?

It's never occurred to me to see. I assumed it was non-wifi 2.4 and 5.8 ISM. Next time I have mine out I will do an RF search for it.

Kerrville clarifies search and rescue drone caused military helicopter emergency landing

My head is clogged today, but if this is the incident I am thinking it is, there is a picture of the drone with a tx highway patrol FAA ID sticker on it. They are kind of stuck. They want to use these as examples of why greater regulation is necessary, but they can't let people dig too deep...

Kerrville clarifies search and rescue drone caused military helicopter emergency landing

This is an interesting thought. As far as I know, for general remote pilot use, I don't think so. For certain governmental operations, I... wonder. I also wonder if the FCC approval is contingent on using the factory software. Hope no one kicks that nest...

Drones Flying Over State Fair in TN Seized

I don't know that I can agree with you. This is the same kind of issue Tennessee has had for years with guns at fairgrounds. The first question is, is that fairground privately owned, or is it city/county property? Once private property or government property is established, then the lawful...

Drones Flying Over State Fair in TN Seized

yeah, that's a really sticky area of law that I am not current with. It would be like open-air filming inside of a bar like Nashville or Dollywood. I am positive there is very fine print on whatever your phone has (I don't think many places issue hard tickets any more) discussing ownership of...

Drones Flying Over State Fair in TN Seized

I have a background in technical surveillance. It, in Tennessee would depend on why you are collecting that intelligence. For instance, if you were in fact trying to capture images of a handoff of information from an asset to a handler, you'd absolutely be doing surveillance. Another law...

Drones Flying Over State Fair in TN Seized

I think this will hinge, as I have said previously, on the application of a smart attorney pushing what the definition of 'surveillance' is. Words have meaning, even here in Tennessee, and surveillance is one of those words. Lest anyone think I am on the side of knuckleheads flying their toys...

Crackdown on illegal drones at Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair Be interesting to see how this plays out.

    Landed then drifted?

probably not an issue, but your landing spot isn't giving you a lot of room for error, either. (I don't have much stick time, but based on what I know about flying in general and computers specifically, I try to leave some wiggle room in case a sensor lies or there's a hiccup and the pilot...

Kerrville clarifies search and rescue drone caused military helicopter emergency landing

Don't know anything about this. Guess I'll search. In the meantime, did the drone ruin the helicopter or what?

    Thermal camera on a drone

And that didn't affect flight stability any?
