There is a way to fly above 400ft above ground level, but you must be licensed to fly under Part 107. Recreational pilots flying exclusively under USC 44809 are not permitted to do this.
This exemption also depends on airspace classification...
That's only for Part 107 flights as set out in 107.51. It is not part of the recreational exemption, 49 U.S. Code § 44809, which has a hard limit of 400 ft above ground level.
I recommmend two things :
First always get the Majority of the storm using Auto Settings. this is critical as it will not fail you.
Once you feel like you got a good part of it, you can than Dial in the ISO and play with the F Stop.
