FAA Announces 8 Partners in Remote ID Development

I have to question why amazon. Speculation from the announcement of remote ID has swirled around amazon and they’re personal interests. Not sure I consider them a tech company. i would rather see a Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman or even a Garmin type company over amazon. What exactly does...

Does amazon have a facility in Denver? ;)

    Mysterious Drone Swarms in Colorado

This is all hearsay to me until someone can produce some footage.

FAA Drone ID Proposal- Round Two

I’m confused with the limited remote ID. What might be a scenario in which one would fall under limited remote ID?

Every one got mavics for Christmas too many flying in the sky now

You can come fly out at my place in the Midwest. I’ve never seen another UAV while flying. I have open skies for as far as the eye can see.

    Damage assessments.

Agreed, and already has. Look at the $5 registration fee. If in fact there are 1.5 million UAVs in the US (as indicated by the FAA) and if 1/3 of them are registered, that’s a cool 2.5 mil already.

    Happy New Year - Fireworks

Man. There’s more fireworks there on New Years Eve than there is here on 4th of July. I love the elevated perspective that a UAV provides.

    Mysterious Drone Swarms in Colorado

I hope those UFOs are making sure they are compliant with the new FAA proposal by either being connected to WiFi or at least broadcasting. I mean, if they’re gonna integrate themselves in to the NAS, they better do it according to regs. The safety of the skies depend on it.

    FAA Drone ID Proposal:

In reference to the diagrams that were emailed out to us all (see them on page 31 of this thread), why does this proposal allow the GENERAL PUBLIC and Law Enforcement to have live access to the location of the UAV and its operator?

    FAA Drone ID Proposal:

So your saying that the expressed opinions on Facebook, which mirror many of those same opinions that are being expressed here, are stereotyped differently? Come on Pete. Be honest. There’s no difference. If you think that those expressing concern on Facebook are nut bags and conspiracy...

    FAA Drone ID Proposal:

I don’t think it’s very appropriate to essentially label every person that disagrees with this proposal a nut bag or conspiracy theorist. Since you insist on pointing out when others may be breaking a forum rule, you might wanna review general rule #2 and #14 yourself. This proposal is obviously...

Help with new rule Remote ID reqiuerments

I don’t speak for all LE agencies, but I work closely with most sheriff departments in my part of the state I live in and I can tell you from conversation with many of them, they could care less about UAV regulations. Most of the sheriffs offices around here are under staffed and under paid. The...

    FAA Drone ID Proposal:

So, out of curiosity, who determines what VLOS is? VLOS will differ between the 20 yr old pilot and the 80 yr old pilot. VLOS will differ between the standard Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Pro equipped with Firehouse strobes.

    FAA Drone ID Proposal:

Are you saying that DJI is in support of these regulations, even with as restrictive as they appear they’re going to be to the average hobbyist?
