    New drone owner

Welcome aboard from the UK! Look forward to hearing from you and fly safe!

Do you hand catch your drone?

Sometimes - when the ground is uneven I'll hover Infront of me, grab it just behind the gimbal to avoid the ground sensors and push the throttle down. In the same conditions I'll hand launch too.

    It sure is.

Props: OEM or are there any good 3rd party ones?

As others said it can be hard to find mini 1 props, they often mislabel mini 2 ones

Possibly. I feel motion controls might be more likely - head attitude or hand motion is not only more simple but more intuitive too. The technology is already there with VR too,

    Mini Evening sky, flying speck.

Ehh I doubt you'll tell any mini drone apart at that distance

I thought as such, with the MM1 being discontinued, and the MM2 and SE using a totally different prop; hence if there's a good third party prop it might be easier to avoid the "100% Geunine" fake / relabelled props that may or may not fit and may or may not lead to an.. unplanned high speed...

I've heard good things about Master Airscrew props. Sadly they don't make them for the Mini 1.

I'm going to have to order more props soon - so I find myself wondering - does anyone know of good (quiet, more efficient, or simply cheaper for the same performance) third party props for the Mini 1?

Makes our newfangled, modern drones seem futuristic by comparison!

    Mini Evening sky, flying speck.

    It's a tiny dot isn't it? 😳

Gimbal (slew) camera left and right

Most drones don't let the user rotate the gimbal about its yaw axis. You'd have to turn the entire drone itself to get the shot you want.

Shh, nobody needs know about the drone takeover 🤭👀

It's to prevent flyaways too - older models with cruder hardware could pick up background noise and interpret it as a radio signal.

    Greetings from the UK!

I've come to this hobby from the RC Heli pilot side. Safe to say preflight caution is seared into my brain fully. Transmitter first, check systems, etc 😛
