I personally find msingers insistence on using the same terminology as DJI highly confusing. You've said multiple times that RTH will be initiated but that the drone won't return home! It's incredibly poor use of English and one could justifiably ask you if it's your first language! Everyone...

Interesting idea, how do you ensure the message doesn't time out while the drone is ascending? I wonder if you could also put your phone into hot spot mode and share your data connection to a second device in the ground.

I don't think all .DNGs are alike. I've had a few cameras that shoot RAW .DNGs but need manufacturer specific updates to get them to work. DJI probably ****** with their version of DNG encoding in the latest update.

I dunno man, this thing is so automated that I think people are 1) not learning decent flying skills in the first place and 2) really taking it for granted how much the Mavic holds your hand during flight.

Yeah, I'm astounded that this even needs to be said! Good argument for learning to fly a cheap drone first, rather than "operate" a Mavic that actually flies itself, IMO.

Escape ropes? You expect untrained, inexperienced, highly stressed civilians to appropriately anchor a rope and somehow get down it? Not to mention the drone would probably only be able to pull a leader rope anyway...

Nice! One thing I will say about DJI support is that they are pretty reasonable about accepting fault in these sort of situations.

That's very strange. What OS are you running? I have no scientific reason to suspect this would work, but have you tried deleting them and re-importing from the SD card? Possibly via a different card reader etc. Or drag-n-drop vs the import function in some programs.
