Mine is my first drone as well. I really like it for the photo/video opportunities. I'm not racing this thing around anywhere or doing anything too crazy. Maybe in time I will, who knows? But for now, I'm constantly terrified of breaking it, crashing it, or having one of those weird...

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. It never recovered. I brought it back home and called it a night. Everything was fine the next day.

Where did you put it on the Mavic?

It's stuff like this that makes me terrified of flying over deeper water where I wouldn't be able to recover my drone.

Just posted about this yesterday. Same thing happened to me. Were you flying in low light levels?

There's no editing done to these pictures. These are just from the Mavic. And this is in Gloucester, MA.

I tried to do some beach/water pics. I don't know much about photography as far as the inner workings of a camera. I've got point and click down. So any suggestions that could help I'd freely and gladly take.

Wow man. I hope you find some inner peace. Regardless of this situation, wishing ill upon anyone probably isn't the best approach.

I use iOS, iPhone 6s Plus. I've never tried shutting down the app mid-flight. The idea scares the bejeezus out of me. But if this happens again, perhaps I'll try it. I was 150 feet up and 2,000 feet away...so perhaps not the best test situation for me.
