Today had my Air 2S taking off to a waypoint mission into the obstacle overhead. Cost me two cracked props. It's a second time i notice that collision avoidance doesn't work with Litchi (first time being when drone flew into the long grass under Litchi control).

I've actually switched my 3D-printed arducopter project to Phantom 3 batteries, because (the knock-offs or second hand ones) are about half the price of the standard 4S 4500mA hobby battery :) And it's tidier to slot the battery in, then fluff around with velcro straps and connectors.

I badly crashed my Phantom 3, when flying at the edge of the paddock, initiated RTH, and it started climbing up into the high branches of a tall pine tree. Cost me a broken gimbal and a lost 128GB sd card. Mavic air 2/2s - don't have side obstacle avoidance. Crashed once into the building when...

Don't know about Italy, but in New Zealand, CAA part 101 rule 101.207 says: "remotely piloted aircraft must [...] avoid operating [...] above property unless prior consent has been obtained from any persons occupying that property or the property owner". So yes, if I do not consent to drones...

During nesting season I had plovers doing attack runs at my drone, me, my dogs. I use bright white strobes attached to the drone arms, under the theory, that the bird wants to see where it is flying, so if the strobe is bright and annoying/blinding, it'll turn away...

How do motor bearings cope with it ? Yes, i'm sure flying through fog or a drizzle is fine, as the motors warm up and will dry by the time you landed. But full immersion ? Also judging by the old phantom that I got for parts, that was sitting in the damp basement, DJI motors corrode and seize...

Run it through Gyroflow, hopefully it'll smooth it out a bit :) My early ones would have been F450 with a gopro strapped to the bottom, "inspecting roof" :)

Got both, still fly A2 for 240 FPS slow-mo video, chasing the birds etc. Unfortunately, for some weird reason, A2S doesn't go that slow, only 120 FPS.
