Anyone who owns a consumer drone knows there isn’t much spying through windows going on. It’s still a lot more efficient to hop over the fence and peek in with your own eyes. You neighbor is just trying to piss you off.
About that learning curve. Unfortunately everything about the Mavic changes with their monthly updates. The only real way to learn is just get out there and do it.
Sometimes I fly it back manually and sometimes use RTH. What’s the big deal? I don’t shy away from using POI instead of flying circles manually. RTH is just another feature designed into the drone and meant to be used as are all the features.

I have 4 batteries. Only charge 3 when I am going to fly and usually come home with one fully charged battery. My brain seems to discharge faster than the batteries.
Hover the Mavic at eye level on a calm day. Slowly turn it and observe each prop. They should almost disappear while spinning. If you see one that doesn't totally disappear replace it.
Some people are really annoyed by people that use the RTH function like it isn't flying the drone. I would bet those same people would be even more annoyed if they had to fly in ATTI mode all the time. So what's the difference.
I know this is a really stupid thought process but how much more do we need? I'm totally happy with the Mavic and the Spark but I just know when they come out with a new one I am just going to have to have it. Maybe the new one will do my income taxes for me so I can justify it.

When I first got my Mavic I too started buying accessories. I ended up with a box of plastic parts. I finally realized that the Mavic is so perfectly engineered that most accessories diminish rather than enhance its performance. The only accessory I found useful was a landing pad.
