Voice Control your drone with this app

It sounds like another step closer to the awaiting hell where we have relinquished the ability to control things directly, but instead rely on algorithms to translate (approximate?) our wishes into actions. In so many fields of life, part of the pleasure comes from combining knowledge with...

Wingtra Announces launch of groundbreaking LIDAR drone solution.

Solution to what? Shouldn't that be a new lidar system...

Battery went from 100% to critically low after few seconds of flying.

Seeing where it came down, you were lucky not to have injured someone or caused damage. Flying way beyond VLOS with a dodgy battery is not good.

Who makes the best battery for Air S2

How do you recondition a LiPo battery?

    General drone intelligence

I think you are incorrect about the gps/compass at start up. Gps does not provide orientation guidance when static, instead the compass gives the IMU a directional reference. Once airborne, the IMU uses that to provide heading orientation with the compass secondary. The need for calibration...

Let's see how many FAA (and other) rules Ken broke

Isn't the most basic lawbreaking issue that neither of them is watching the drone for much of the time. Surely for any flight to be legal, regardless of vehicles etc, you have to keep an eye on it

Flying Mavic Mini 3 Pro in an NFZ without GPS Module?

Why not respect the law and not fly in a NFZ?

If you did not buy your DJI Drone in the US, is it RID Compliant in the US?

Karen is a very misogynistic term. Anyone had the right to their opinions without being shut down with labels like this. Opponents or critics would be a suitable term without implying a woman who does not like drones is an unbalanced harpy.

The myth of the 'No Drone Zone' sign...

I presume it's up to the owner of the land to decide if they accept drones taking off and landing. If they own the land and don't allow it, there's not much to be said. Flying over their land is a completely different issue and can only be stopped by statute.

    Less than cool.

Probably quite an irritation as a buyer, but not compared to the issues facing some people in the world, like a citizen of Ukraine or Sudan. That's not intended at all as sarcasm, just reminding those of us fortunate enough to fly drones, our woes are miniscule in comparison to many of the...

China curbs drone exports over ‘national security concerns’

They could buy Autel drones if concerned. Similar enough to be DJI replacements, with some disruption and caveats.

    5m or not 5m

It's ludicrous trying to blame the EU for this. The EU did a great job in standardising and harmonising a range of often conflicing national rules in an emerging market. They were agreed by negotiation, not 'diktats' Once the UK left the EU, it was entirely free to set its own regulations - and...

Why does the FAA Part 107 test require learning apparently unnecessary knowledge?

Thanks Zbip57 for pointing out my somewhat elementary errors:I'd been too quick dismiss the effect of high AofA caused by descent etc, I was blinded by the props fixed pitch maintaining a consistent attack angle. The tethered analogy was indeed incorrect, as as you point out, the greatest load...
