If you like pushing it to the limit and fly higher, faster and farther than the law permits, just because you can… think again

To some extent, this day has already arrived. Toyota informed me recently of a new type of insurance they're going to offer that will adjust rates based on how you drive. I know one thing it mentioned was how fast you stop. I'm sure they will also look at how fast you drive, certainly how far...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

@Eugenious99: I'm sure you're right about BlackVue not manufacturing them. However, @sar104 is right in that they are very reliable in BlackVue dash cameras. Dash cameras constantly write to the card whenever you are driving (and sometimes even while you're parked, depending on your settings)...

That's interesting. Mine does not work that way. Even after I've formatted it on my Mac, if I then format it in my Zoom, it won't work in the Mac. The only way my Mac will read it is if I format it on my Mac and use it in the Zoom without formatting it in the Zoom.

That's what I have (the BlackVue DR900S-2CH). I didn't really want to keep using the BlackVue card in my Zoom, anyway, as it is much more expensive than the EVO card. There are other mentions of issues like the one I experienced (presumably with other cards because I doubt many people even own...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

I do believe they are somehow different (somehow more able to take the continuous writing that dash cams do, and the extreme temperature). But how should that make a difference? If I format this Blackvue card in my Mac and then use it in the drone (without formatting it in the drone), the...

@SteelFlyer @Wibster @Thealien @Eugenious99 @mcsenerd @addysmith97 @Kilrah @WWK888 @ac0j @sar104 @DanMan32 Well, the plot thickens. I bought a Samsung EVO Select 128 GB microSD card (photo attached). I formatted in my Mavic 2 Zoom, recorded some video, put it in my iMac, and my iMac...

Hi - Thank you for weighing in. Could you say what brand and model of card are you using (and what size)?

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

I don't think it could be the reader. I've tried using the built-in SD card slot (with an adapter) on my iMac, as well as a USB stick adapter and another reader that I have. I've also tried the readers on my Mac Pro. No matter how I try, I cannot read a card formatted in my Mavic on either of...

What SD Micro card best suited for Mavic 2Pro camera?

@jwblair: You mention a 256GB micro SD card, but the owner's manual for the Mavic 2 Pro & Zoom states that (for both of them), "Supporting Micro SD with capacity up to 128 GB and R/W speed up to UHS-I Speed Grade 3." I know that sometimes cameras say they will only support up to a certain size...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

Mac OS updates are universal. I'm not aware of any driver updates that are even possible outside of the Mac OS updates. I don't think that could account for it. The card, formatted in the Mavic Zoom, is not working with either of my Macs. One is running a fully-updated version of Sierra, the...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

Normally, I think most Mac users format drives that are for use with their Macs would format to "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". I don't know exactly what the rep meant by what he said. I've read in the owner's manuals of many cameras that you should always format the cards you use in the camera...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

@WWK888: Thanks for that. It's very confusing. I've got the same Mavic (presuming there are no differences in this regard between the Pro and the Zoom) and the same OS. I'm guessing that somehow the brand of card makes a difference. What specific version of the Samsung cards are you using...

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

@WWK888 Thank you for that information. Which Mavic do you have, and what brand/size card are you using? Also, do you know which Mac OS version you're using. It's very strange that different people are getting these varying results.

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

@mcsenerd: Are you saying you're formatting your microSD card in your Mavic and then putting that microSD card in a reader attached to your MB Pro, and the MB Pro recognizes it as a hard drive? Which Mavic do you have, and what OS are you using on your MBP?

Using Micro USB with Apple Mac computers (compatibility issues)...

Hi @Eugenious99: Could you be more specific? (1) Which Mavic do you have? (2) How are you formatting your microSD card (in the Mavic or in a Mac)? (3) What specific type of computer are you using your microSD card and Mavic with? (4) How are you reading your microSD card on your computer...
