Waypoints works fairly well for this, what I've been using for the similar scenario. Your altitude will change a little at times due to barometer changes but it works fairly well. Lots of utube videos on how to do.

Good point, I have a waypoint that I run once a month to watch changes in the scenery/trees and I've noticed a little bit more of difference in the view than I expected, most likely because altitude variation.

You need to be on wifi and if you are wanting to set up in a different are, select and download the map in the area you are wanting to go to.

I really enjoy sitting at home and setting up waypoints using the maps so I'm ready to rock and roll as soon as I go to the location. I think I've done more that way than while flying, once I found out it could be done.

I hadn't thought about turning off obstacle avoidance, but just for safety I don't think I would. One of my concerns is the OA might warn me of a bird earlier.

I updated my mini pro 4 two days ago, after reading this I installed all of my batteries and tried running the update again and it said there was no updates available. Is there a different way to update the batteries?
