The phone may have been running an app. Kind of beside the point.
The simple question I am asking is:- can I charge my phone from the RC or not???
If so, a secondary question would be:- How?
My RC and all batteries were at 100% charged
Its my phone that's the problem
It was on a good charge level when I left the car but only 43% when setting up to fly
Very quickly down to 20% warning, then 10% - at which point I dare not continue to fly
My phone doesn't charge from the RC. Tried...
My first MA requested compass calibration nearly every flight. I have a smartwatch and used to remove it before flight. Didn't reduce the problem much, if at all.
Didn't seem to matter how far I had travelled between flights. Even returning to change battery and taking off again from the same...
I have an iPhone who's battery is getting a bit crap.
Went flying today. Left car with phone around 75%
20 minutes walk later set up to fly - phone now showing 43%
Few minutes flying - got a low battery warning (20%)
Few more minutes, got the 10% low battery warning and landed the air
Total...
Just a little more news that may be relevant
New MA arrived yesterday and did the firmware updates etc last night
Quick flight today - its first.
Guess what - no compass calibration required. Even for its first ever flight!!
I wonder if the constant requirement to calibrate almost every flight...
Hi all, I have good news.
DJI have concluded there was no pilot error and will repair / replace under warranty!!
Just made my day!!
Just got a few days to wait until I can go flying again. :)
Thanks again for all the help & advice. Thumbswayup
Well, it is now in the post and on its way to DJI in the Netherlands.
I will update this thread to let you know the outcome. Guess that will be a week or three away.
Thanks again for all the help & advice

The crazy thing is - when it gave the warning about heading exception, it said to switch to ATTI mode if a/c behaves erratically (I understand that the app covers all DJI a/c, some of which have such a switch). Yet having given such a warning, it didnt switch itself. Could this be a malfunction...
If I understand correctly, there is no way to select ATTI mode manually on a Mavic Air, even if you had the time to work through the settings menus in the App?
The a/c can decide to change mode to ATTI itself?
Surely this cannot be right
I dont think GPS is still functioning.
It still powers up, links to controller and receives a picture from the camera but there are faults on IMU, accelerometer, 2 of the ESCs, compass, gimbal. Can't recall GPS status.

Many thanks @sar104 for your help on this. Absolutely invaluable.
I will send the MA off & wait for DJIs response. Fingers crossed!
Two questions:
The MA controller has customisable buttons on it - is there any way of making one of these a manual ATTI mode switch?
Surely, if the IMU detects a...
There was a metal structure nearby but not for the first time. For example, I have set up & taken off within a few feet of my car several times.
Like I said in the OP, compass calibration is required just about every time I set the a/c up for a flight. Even happens most times if I land, change...
