Some comments: What do you do if your PC/Mac does not see your SC as is perhaps the most likely scenario of all if SC USB connection settings are not appropriate? Plugging/unplugging cable will then have no success. There are other posts and even a video which deal with and show how to fix this...

The main purpose of the test is to ensure you can't say later you weren't told the rules if you are caught not following them. it is not an intelligence or skills test.

It will not be the cable. If your PC doesn't recognise the SC it is the USB setting as described in the earlier post. Lack of memory is highly unlikely and a system reset is not needed. If there is a memory shortage just move some stuff like videos and photos off the SC.
