From Air 1 to Mini (CE), silly idea?

Fair point, that was just pure speculation on my end. I remember reviews of the Air saying that it’s WiFi was better than the Spark’s, so I wonder if the Mini’s even better, being more recent. Then again WiFi is WiFi... there’s only so much you can do about it :)

From Air 1 to Mini (CE), silly idea?

So I guess I'm back to square one with two choices: 1. Keep the Air 1 and fly in A3 now, then possibly get an Air 3 (or Air 2 Plus or whatever) with a CE mark to fly in A1 2. Get a Mini and fly in A1 (as C0) and A3 now (MTOM "issue" aside for A1C0), then possibly get CE-marked Air 3 for better...

From Air 1 to Mini (CE), silly idea?

So the issue, if I understand correctly, is that the propeller guards are part of the MTOM (the keyword being "Maximum" there) even though they're not installed? I had not considered that, as most Italian drone sites keep stating that the Mini will remain in C0 after 2022. Then again I admit I...

From Air 1 to Mini (CE), silly idea?

The test is not an issue as I already passed it, and registration only costs a one-time €6 per drone (for personal use) so that's hardly expensive. As OptikN3rv pointed out, the temptation is more due to being able to fly (almost) anywhere, as it's A1C0 and will remain A1C0 even after 2022; the...

From Air 1 to Mini (CE), silly idea?

Hello fellow dronists, TL;DR: thinking of getting a Mini and selling my Air 1, mostly as a Mini could fly in urban areas here in Europe. Is it a bad idea? I understand that this is a very personal choice, but I figured I could pick your brains about this. :) Longer version: Today I've finally...

    FCC mode in CE area

I updated this morning via Android and it remained in FCC mode for me as well. (Haven't tried re-applying the hack in the field where the drone receives GPS though; I did the upgrade inside where I was shielded from GPS signal.)

    FCC mode in CE area

Yep that's what I've done, but the problem is that if for some reason I'm back into CE mode (e.g. using a 3rd party app) and need to get back into FCC mode in the field I may be unable to do so. Perhaps I should carry some tin foil sheets to wrap the drone with!

Warning: New Litchi beta on Android messes with FCC mode

Can confirm this with DroneDeploy as well, which is quite annoying since I found that DJI Go 4.3.0 doesn't let restore the FCC 'hack' if the drone receives GPS, making it a pain to switch back in the field. I hope DJI doesn't stop asking in the official app!

    FCC mode in CE area

Yes, I tried switching it off and on at various points during the whole process in the field: before turning on the RC, after turning on the RC, before even connecting the RC to the phone in the first place, after I finally got the message to change the settings... When I was home I did this: -...

    FCC mode in CE area

Hi everyone, I read part of this giant thread but I couldn't find a definitive answer to my plight. I am in Europe and I can't seem to switch to FCC mode while in the field. TL;DR: when the drone gets GPS signal, the RC-drone link won't reset after switching modes and even rebooting everything...

No GPS data in SRT file for Mavic Air?

Hi David, I contacted DJI and they confirmed it's not available on the Mavic Air. No idea if they're going to ever implement it in a new firmware (it would be trivial to do, since the aircraft does have and track GPS already), but that's the only way for it to happen. I would urge you to...

No GPS data in SRT file for Mavic Air?

Hello all! I just went from a Phantom 3 Advanced to a Mavic Air and I've noticed that the SRT files generated by the MA are completely different from the ones generated by the P3. While the P3 wrote something like this every second: HOME(14.1714,42.3449) 2018.02.27 11:39:37...
