Used iPad mini 2 16Gb since day one on Mavic. Nearly 10 hrs of flight, never had a problem or app crash. Only negative is iPad screens aren't that bright, so sunny conditions require some shade to see a perfect image.

I have the same case from eBay, yes very smelly. Odour is from the laser cutting process that cut the foam insert s. Will settle down in a few weeks, otherwise a great case. I have cut foam that fits my iPad mini into the lid cavity. All fits really well, leave props on never had a problem.

Dji would have put extra holes in if they thought it was necessary. The thin slot is ample, that is why it's there. We don't all go drilling extra holes in our cars to keep them cool!
