The USB port on that Mavic3 charger is really meant to plug in the RC for recharging simultaneously. Always use the direct line. I charge each battery while in the drone and it's usually an hour or less if it's down to 1-2 lights.

I like being in complete control of the drone at all times, especially during urban flights and in controlled airspace, so I'm inclined never to use it. My fear is that it would make me lazy, less vigilant and create a false sense of security. I consider it only as an insurance policy. I use it...

We're the Rodney Dangerfield of pilots. I was talking to a fellow photojournalist and she says it's "pretentious" when I call myself a "pilot." When I pointed out I really am (107) she said "I know, but it's still pretentious." Lol.

I pivoted from Airmap to UAsidekick (for 107 permissions) and it's been great. fyi

Thanks for the info. It did indeed feel like a suicide mission, but was able to catch the mini, got the shot and changed all 8 propellers (one was broken, others for safety) upon return. I'm glad I didn't try with Mavic 3. That would have been really rough sailing.

I think it sort of was doing that, but it couldn't keep up with the constant change with forward movement.

It would have been impossible to reset the home point manually while trying to fly and photograph. I knew I was under a faster time constraint keeping up with the vessel on the battery life, I didn't know it was going to be quite as fast as it was to burn this battery's time down, and I didn't...

I'm not aware of being able to have the home point continuously reset from a moving object.
