Survey. Check to see if your RID actually is transmitting. Install the Drone Scanner App, Fly your drone, then see if the App sees it. Thanks

On the Apple App store, I find these: Note, it's 4 years old, no updates. The "not compatible with this device" message is because I'm on a MacBook Pro from 2015, and it wants an IOS device running at least IOS 12.0, which I have. And then this: So, they did tell us they published an...

Fly app auto log out, an interesting post by a DJI mod.

"Open WiFi" generally means an access point without any password or security. Even MickyD's has passwords these days. Your phone can also act as a "hot spot", and you can assign a password. In most cases, you have to. That should work.

    Dji Fly auto log out…sux

I just ran into this today. It was inconsequential in my case, but frustrating. I was able to connect to a WiFi access point and login. My complaint is you can't head this off in advance. You MUST just let it happen! My Mavice 3 Pro let me know, also today, that I'll be logged out in 5...

I don't have an Android device to try, only iOS. Neither the Mini 3P nor the Mavic 3 Pro showed up on iOS. If the app can't work because Apple won't allow 3rd party apps scanning of WiFi or BT, then why is it published at all?

    166mm camera infinity in MF?

Remember the actual lenses you're dealing with are not 166mm or 24mm, they are MUCH shorter. That means the focus adjustments are micro-tiny. These could easily be manufacturing tolerance issues, and while you absolutely should ping DJI (and let us know), this could be a 'range of normal'...

    J-peg, RAW with Mavic 3

Thats true of the file itself, not true of the complete image system which includes the lens, and image processing which is nearly always less than the pixel count. Image sensors today typically have higher pixel count than the associated lens has resolving power. This is as it should be. The...

    J-peg, RAW with Mavic 3

The jpg and dng files may have the same number of pixels, but not all of the pixels in a jpg represent real image information. The jpg algorithm can result in lower resolution but the same pixel count.

    J-peg, RAW with Mavic 3

It depends on several factors. jpg/jpeg is a form of lossy “compression” (more correctly: data reduction) that reduces the total amount of data used to represent an image by not saving full information about every single pixel. Rather it duplicates similar adjacent pixels over a certain area...

    J-peg, RAW with Mavic 3

A RAW file is camera specific a DNG file is not. DNG can contain the same information as RAW, but can also employ lossless compression, so the file is often smaller that the same image as a RAW file. DNG is Adobe's open-source file type. Both RAW and DNG contain the original sensor image plus...

    J-peg, RAW with Mavic 3

Don't know your background. Mine was chemical photography, so jumping into Photoshop (over 30 years ago!) was very natural. Many of the tools are the same as I'd used in a real darkroom...only they work better. I'm still in Photoshop every day, at least a little. I also have Photoshop...

Should i get the mavic 3 pro ?

Thanks for that info. It describs a very specific application. If these shots are part of a business, you might want to consider moving out of the consumer drones. For example, the Matrice 30 has a max speed of over 50mph, with higher wind resistance, so you could penetrate a headwind...

Should i get the mavic 3 pro ?

Clearly not. I was hoping to point out a small practical matter. But hey, if you want a silent drone with a 400mm lens on it, go for it.

Should i get the mavic 3 pro ?

Ok then. There are many types of photography. And cinematography is very specialized. You didn't say so, so does your 40 years includ cinematography? In general, moving the camera and shooting with a prime is preferred over varifocal zooming. Generally. What type of work do you do that you...

Should i get the mavic 3 pro ?

Noise works this way: every time you double the distance you cut the sound pressure in half. If you're at 100', the SPL drops by 6dB (half) at 200'. Half again at 400', and so on. Cutting sound pressure in half does NOT make it half as loud. Loudness is perceived differently. Cutting...
