Thanks. I read about shielded option. I think that this is a very friendly rule to drone users. Do you have any nice spots for drone flying with GPS location?

Not yet, but in a year or two who knows

Another question: It seems that Airshare App requires to validate all flights even in areas that there are no restrictions at all and then register the flight then confirm and then to Activate Flight. Is it necessary to use Airshare to register all flights in NZ.

Thanks I will use plus AirShare App. It is better than what we have in Canada as it shows parks and I assume all restricted areas. In Canada many parks that have restrictions are not mapped on official maps.

Thanks. I know the rules and I was surprised that there were no different rules for <250g drone hence my question to find if I did not miss something.

I will be visiting New Zealand starting Feb 25 till March 25 visiting North and South, I was searching for rules and it seems that the rules for mini are the same as for larger drones <25kg I have Mini 3 pro and Mavic 3 and often take both for flying mini where larger drones are not allowed...

RTH is for more than that. You approach is safe.

    RTH crash

Thank you for your input. Just a small correction, however. I did not insist that it was a malfunction, as you seem to imply. I was trying to find out why the system did not perform to expectation. Rare circumstances that fooled the algorithm do not constitute a mechanical malfunction.

    RTH crash

Thank you for pointing out that there is no perfect automatic system, I know it and I mentioned it before. My goal was to identify the limitations of the system that caused the crash, and you are right, I did discover rare circumstances that defeated the system. This is exactly what I wanted to...

    RTH crash

Many times I have written that I know what limitations are. It must be that English is my second language that I was not clear enough and you did not understand me. During an autolanding process, several scenarios can lead to a drone crashing accident, resulting in undesirable outcomes. The...

    RTH crash

Thank you for your explanation. I understand that what you explained is for the detection of forward obstacles (or side or back in Mavic 3). There is an algorithm for autolanding, and the drone has optical and infrared sensors that are used for landing. If there is no flat uniform surface, why...

    RTH crash

I think you may not understand what I want to know when you recommend manual landing. Nevertheless, if there is a function that is convenient, the function should work within its limitations. RTH is no longer a dumb automation; although it is not perfect yet, it has improved significantly. It...

    RTH crash

Alright, I understand. Let me rephrase. I apologize for the lack of precision in my previous wording. Can we agree that bushes can be considered obstacles, and the sensors on the drone should be capable of detecting their presence during descent? The ground itself is not an obstacle, but when...

    RTH crash

You are right. The system is not smart enough, however, when I tried to fly the drone into the bush horizontally, it always avoided it. I attempted this several times, and each time the drone successfully detected the obstacle (leaves) and avoided it. The bush's foliage has a distance of just...

    RTH crash

I posted the flight log, but for some reason, the files could not attach, so I provided a link to the log on my OneDrive. Here is the folder that includes the flight log, CSV file, an Excel file containing only the last seconds of the flight, and two screen recordings. One recording captures my...
