I subscribe to the philosophy "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

This winter I plan to do a few experiments. It's already -30C here but I've only flown down to -20C. No problem. I'd like to try at -30C or even -40C, but in that extreme temperature I think I will have to get my wife to sew a "cozy" for the Mavic!

Now I know why my "car charger" doesn't work so well at my cabin. My storage batteries rarely get above 13-volts even with the wind-charger and/or solar panels running full tilt. Has anyone tried to run the regular 110-volt charger from an inverter? I'm wondering how that charger would tolerate...

I've had my Mavic for year and have never calibrated anything. Flys fine!

-20C (-4F) is not cold. -40C (-40F) IS cold!

I've flown my Mavic at -20C (-4F) without any problem. The motors seemed to turn fine and, assuming they run at the same RPM as when warmer, the props will have MORE thrust in the denser air. The electronics seem unaffected by the cold, the battery only marginally affected. I start with a warm...

That's my mantra. I'm still on whatever software/firmware version that was installed when I bought my Mavic a year ago. Flies like a dream!

It seems to help if you turn off video caching to your 'phone or tablet.

Excellent! The kind of thing that, just a few years ago, could only be made by a big production company with a helicopter.

His last post was very informative. Now he's sure to get his problem fixed. All I can say is this: I'm not "technical" at all but I had mine up and running in 10-minutes. If the OP can't get his to work I'd suggest that, being a "technical" person, he should have caught on quickly to the fact...
