The cellular will give you GPS location and you don't need to pay any monthly fees or use the cellular capability for any other purpose. To me it's well worth it for the reasons geigy mentioned.

That's not true. Cell towers and wifi can be used to determine approximate location when indoors and can also speed up the process of locking onto the GPS satellites outdoors, but iPhones, Android phones, and iPads with cellular all have true GPS location with similar accuracy to standalone...

Did you try changing the max altitude a couple of times (e.g. from 120 to 110 and then back to 120) just to try and force it to re-update the value in the aircraft? That's what I was suggesting earlier. I had the same issue and that fixed it for me.

Have you guys checked that continuous autofocus (also known as AFC or AF-C) is disabled? Otherwise it might not matter how you set the focus at the start of the mission because it may be trying to adjust focus continuously as the mission progresses (which often doesn't work so well).
