I change SD cards every time I change batteries just as a precaution . It’s a nice and cheap insurance policy . This protects me from bad SD cards and crashes. -

As I said, the only reason I use it is because it's slim enough to fit into my backpack I take to work (so it's easy to always have it on me)...
