Hey, it's a thought. I'll have to try it again in normal conditions. There were times I was facing the wind, and there were times it was blowing from right to left.

I have more than one friend that is trying to get me to upgrade... lol... I do know that it's better, but I just can't justify the difference, at least not right now. I am glad that I at least got the RC. And so far it's been great for my use case. Someday maybe...

It's not exactly "a few extra bucks" to go to the RC Pro ($300 for the RC, $1,000 for the Pro). I grabbed the RC for my Air 2S about a year ago, and it's working great. I do get a few signal drop outs, but I never took the time to compare it with the RC-N1. I don't usually go that far away...

Great tip, but I tried 3 different SD card sized adapters, and one of the small square-type things with the USB plug on the end (I'm an IT guy and can't think of the name of it... lol...). I ended up doing the repair, and it worked. But once I get that error on ANY drive/card I don't trust it...

I do have more than one. I meant the card that was currently in my drone. I have 3 of the same that I bought at the same time. But I just figured that since it's been over a year since I bought them, maybe there's something better I should get.

Yea, I went out to do a quick shoot, 9-10 pics and a few videos. Came in the house to offload. Computer read the card ok, saw the files, Opened up Lightroom to import the pics, and it told me the card was empty... it saw the folders, but no data. I removed the card and re-inserted, got the...

Yea, in case I do a lot of stuff on a shoot. I do rarely fill it, and I format it after every flight or 2, making sure I back up what's on it. And it's cheap... well, when I got it a year ago. I think it was in the low $20's, on sale.

I've been getting read errors lately with my current SD card, so I think it's time to replace it... I don't trust it. What's the good card these days? Here is what I'm using now... I'd assume it would still be good, but I haven't had to get a new card in a year or so. Amazon.com

I'd never trust something that flies with an aftermarket battery. So many bad things could happen... and I'm sure DJI Care wouldn't cover anything when using an aftermarket battery. For some things you need to get the real thing. Now... you can get "renewed" official DJI batteries cheap...

Drone Nerds has refurbished that are eligible for DJI Care.

As someone else posted, the gimbal motors are only active when the drone is powered up. When you shut it down, the motors stop, so the gimbal floats around freely. That is why the drone comes with a cover for the gimbal: not only to protect the lens, but to prevent the gimbal from being slapped...

So I figured I give the RC a try, since my phone is an iPhone 8 Pro, and it heats up pretty good in the summer (among other reasons)... should arrive today. Is there anything I need to know, other than connecting it to WiFi, doing updates, and binding it to my Air 2S? Looks easy enough to get...
