Please land the drone before the battery level hits zero. We don't need an excuse for more legislation because some innocent bystander took a drone hit to the head from it dropping like a rock out of the sky.

The situations you describe are all things that the drone flyer needs to be conscious of and fly accordingly.

Why not take a more responsible approach and land before the battery reaches a critically low level? Flying until your drone drops out of the sky is far riskier than a controlled landing, which at least ensures it reaches the ground safely.
