    Isle of Lewis, Scotland

Well worth a visit. I’ve been a few times and always seem to get lucky with the weather. It helps that the Mavic 2 can cope with a good blow. Got a bit low over the sea in one shot, so I climbed and almost hit a flock of geese !

Question about flying over water and diving

Unless tide or other visual references would make it look daft, why not just fly the scene in reverse (start low an climb) and then reverse the clip in the editor of your choice.

    Hovering question....... please dont laugh

Correct, launched from the top of the cliff part way through this. Launch height is zero, descend down the cliff and you’ll get a minus reading - see screenshot below.

    Hovering question....... please dont laugh

The wind is, I guess, 30 degrees off from directly behind the yacht, so they are not being naturally aspirated at the same speed. The drone does not have a dagger board. The strength of the wind is, I guess, f’ing strong. When you see the drone downwind you can see the props, ergo it’s pitched...

    Hovering question....... please dont laugh

Def knows what he (she?) is doing, but they needed to work that Phantom pretty hard, as from the launch and the sails that wind was strong enough and crossed enough to be close to the limits. I’d love to know what his (or hers) expectations of getting it back were. I’ve done a few relatively...

I wonder how surprised this guy was to cuddle up with his Phantom that night!

Mavic Air pilot in Edinburgh, Scotland

Hi Chris, I’ve got an MP2 and am based near Bathgate. Been flying RC since I was 12, including strapping cameras to planes, but only been droning for less than a year. Some of my stuff is here Droning Feel free to get in touch if you want to share ideas. Cheers Kevin

Thanks [emoji1] I’ve been strapping cameras onto RC planes for 20 years now but only recently found DJI - a Spark and now a Mavic 2 Pro. I thought the Spark was impressive for what it was, but the MP is just incredible. Below is a 6 sec exposure, that is just mind blowing. I used to spend...

    Scottish Reservoir

Thanks[emoji106] The reflections when I’m going backwards over the lake look almost surreal. One days I’ll stop long enough to try and think through the physics of why they appear that way to a fairly fast moving drone.

Hand launch and land with Mavic 2 Pro

Agree. You just need to be persistent with zero throttle and not fight it when you land.

First time posting so be gentle :) I didn't really have a plan when I shot this, I just spotted the light getting interesting and wanted to get to know my MP2 pro a bit better. Shame, someone decent would have done a great job! Kevin Cobbinshaw Reservoir by knewt.com, on Flickr
