According to the faa yes you have to call them but I have the same issue of private landings in the middle of the corn field and I talked to one guy he said he's not even sure why he's on the list sense there's no air tower or anything and just gave me permission to fly when ever I wanted not...

Thanks I been playing with it alot today better weather took it up to 375ft and 1500ft away before I lost connection. Had alot of trees in the way next weekend I'll be at a swap meet I'm gonna try to do some 4k video if I can get permission to do it
