Get some Polycaprolactone (PCL), it's a polyester thermoplastic with various trade names instamorph, polymorph... Melts around 60C but not very thermally conductive so you can handle it without burning yourself. Add any stand-type-thing you like from the thrift store and you can make your own...

The MA2 Drone has been great...but DJI Fly [Android] crashes a couple times per flight which is disconcerting. Hasn't resulted in a crash yet, but I expect it will eventually. First flight with Fly 1.1.4 it crashed after about 8 minutes.

You pay DJI the big bucks for smart batteries that control their own charge rates. The DC-DC adapter needed for car charging is dead simple. Even a $10 price point allows for a healthy profit margin.

I would, depending on the shot I was trying to get. Probably not great for timelapse/hyperlapse. But the MA2 can do 42mph in sport so I wouldn't worry about a Mini-style blow away incident. If I was getting sway or shake I'd try flying at lower altitude. Definitely wouldn't fly down wind...

Broke out the calipers since you asked, turns out the multi-curved top of the battery makes taking consistent measurements somewhat tricky. On my 3 batteries it's between .2mm and .4mm of bulge, I wouldn't take these numbers as gospel, but I got .22mm, .24mm and .38mm at the center of the label...
