Just a little update.. I reported my case to DJI. They said the couldn't get any flight data from the controller logs. Just the stick movements are stored on the controller. They offered me 30% off the list price for mavic without battery and controller. Not a bad deal?

Yes they were the only files, which is why I was asking what kind of data the controller actually stores? Would be great if it kept all the information it displays on the controller screen somewhere...

There is no blackbox option when connecting the controller. Just option to export log files, which I have done. But none of the online tools for reading log files accept the files. They are only .dat and files without extension.
