Take a look at your area on a sectional. Congested areas are shaded yellow. If you dont live within a yellow shaded box, that plane can fly anywhere that's not within 500 ft of a man made...
AirNav: KMDD - Midland Airpark
If it were me I would submit a planned flight with either AirMap or through LANCC. KMDD does not have a tower, so the best FAA to call would be Ft Worth. And use common sense. Dont fly within those approach and departure paths.

I will say, eastern Utah is pretty awesome, but I am from Colorado, so the mountain thing is no argument. Maybe I just dont like SLC and Tooele. Maybe it's an exwife thing.
Hobby flight rules dont need waivers, and yes, I do fly with strobes, and yes, I do call the local tower, and yes, I even call the local flight for life.
