Can I launch my drone from a private residence adjacent to a state park and fly over the state park?

I have a M2P and an Autel Evo 2 Pro which is orange. I can see my E2P substantially further away than the grey Mavic. Anytime I look at the grey I wonder ‘what were they thinking?’, ditto with the blue Skydio’s. Why these things aren’t screaming hot neon pink is beyond me (yeah I know people...

How i am Handling the GPS Waiting Game!

I wondered if they had an almanac problem. I also wonder if they are prioritizing Beidou satellites over using the regional constellation for the drones current location (i.e. use GSP for North America, Galileo for Europe, etc.)

Legality of selling photos taken by drone of privately-owned structures

You need the 107 because you are [commercially] operating the drone. The pilot of your chartered aircraft is, presumably, commercially licensed to be providing/selling that service. With the drone you are both pilot and photographer. In your contrast example you are just the photographer.

    Oregon State park rules changing

Here’s the thing if ‘noise’ is the issue. Rather than banning drones, just like manned aircraft over parks, set a minimum operating height. Most people (non-participants in the flight) don’t hear a drone that’s at 200’ AGL and they certainly are completely unaware of one at 395’ AGL. I’d...

    Epson Moverio BT-40

What about the increased field of view of the BT-40 vs the previous models?

    WTB Epson Moverio BT-40

Nice! I’ll point Mike at the 35e if my 40 isn’t directly compatible w/his SC.

    Epson Moverio BT-40

The device you are plugging the glasses into needs to support DP Alt (DisplayPort alternate mode) in order for the BT-40 to work without their BO-IC400 controller (the BT-40S version of the glasses).

    WTB Epson Moverio BT-40

B&H finally received some BT-40S! Happy dance ensued and it was ordered before the electrons on the email could cool. A colleague asked me about using them with a smart controller last night, so your post is perfect timing! Are the BT-35E’s USB-C? Did you have to do anything other than...

    WTB Epson Moverio BT-40

Yes! And when you finally receive an email claiming it’s in stock, sent to you in the middle of the night, when you click on the link mere hours later when you wake up, they say their are out of stock. <grrrr> I want a pair to use with my drones, and as a monitor for my mobile devices &...

    Drone registration question

Nice of you to spend the effort to track them down. But now we do want to know the rest of the story - was it a flyaway? Fell off their car? Inquiring minds and all that ;)

A short explanation of compass function, calibration and errors.

The map window is relevant discussion as it’s used for checking that the nose position of the aircraft matches reality to determine if there’s been a compass and imu mismatch which would result in a yaw error (I’m certainly adding it to my checklists). In order for that check to be useful...

Friend hits a helicopter tread at mid day. No reported event for all she knows.

A lot of pilots use ForeFlight with an ADS-B In device to give them that data while flying.

It help enjoying my job even better. I am a project manager in Detroit, MI and having my drone makes my work much easier and professional

Kiwis are over the top ;). Regs will vary by project and location. Depending on the roof slope & material the roofers will “rope off” & wear a fall harness which when properly worn/tied off will prevent them from smacking the ground. I’m not aware of any US location that would require...

    Drone Magazine

On my system, when I select A4 for paper size there is a submenu. Using A4 Borderless eliminated any cropping. YMMV.
