    Crack in prop

    It really does happen.

    Crack in prop

My flight instructor told me that the one single emergency that one should just put their head between their legs and say Sayonara is if a part of the prop goes. Usually, that will cause the engine to tear itself off the mounts in less than a second. So yeah, it's not worth a few bucks to keep a...

    Polar Pro Filters

They are very well made and most importantly their customer service is first rate IMHO.

    Partially broken prop?

Not worth the risk. In a small airplane, a partially missing prop can pull the engine out of the mounts... just saying.

    Will they work?

They work with the non-smart controller from my experience.

What to do if no one picks up? 5 miles from airport

Obviously you survived but what happened? Did you get your PPL? The thing that impresses me is just how fast controllers go into super mode. There is a YouTube channel that posts audio from incidents along with diagrams. It's fascinating. If you in your 152 says the word emergency you go right...

What to do if no one picks up? 5 miles from airport

They will always say they would rather be giving you advice than an enforcement action. For my stupid blunder, I was told to take a lesson with my instructor in which we would go over the local airspace. He then told me to read the manual on my GPS so that I would know how to program the...

    Restricted air space

Contact your local FSDO and ask. You will most likely get an invitation to come in and talk to an FAA guy. These guys love it when pilots and now drone pilots ask questions. The local FSDO would be the ones to authorize it anyway. It gives you the opportunity to flag your waiver request with the...

What to do if no one picks up? 5 miles from airport

I think just having the radio in your kit would go a long way towards establishing a good intention if ever confronted with a "ramp check" or violation. I've met a couple of FAA guys over the years and I've always been surprised at the level of professionalism and general attitude such as...

Getting arrested. But found a cool spot

You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride downtown. I know this from having dealt with Homeland Security shooting in the NJ Meadowlands. No matter how many times I tell them, most terrorists don't use a tripod they fail to see the logic.

The Arris Raptor landing skids for M2P and M2Z are available now! (Great for hand landing)

I'm a bit surprised you would pay 184.00. That just seems crazy. I have had good experience with the company. I think it's 1 or 2 guys but have had nothing like your experience. You should call them.

Advice for Low Level Flights over Water - Skimming Water Surface

I've not been flying over the ocean. Swamp, rivers and ponds pretty much. By setting my altitude I mean that I am making sure the drone is stable hovering about 4 to 6 feet over the surface. I pin my eye on the altitude where the horizon is and I make the shot. I've been using the Moverio BT-300...

Advice for Low Level Flights over Water - Skimming Water Surface

I have the Arris Raptor skid and floats which I got for shooting in the NJ Meadowlands. I'm using an M2P and once setting altitude it's been pretty stable when racing over the water surface.
