    Halloween drone show!

Sorry! It caught me out - I should have looked more closely (but, in my defence, I got the link from a reputable site). Mea culpa.

    Halloween drone show!

Short, but impressive! It’s amazing how quickly these displays are progressing.

    LiPo batteries storage

As previous posts have already mentioned, it's HIGHLY unlikely (but not absolutely impossible, of course) that genuine, undamaged Mavic batteries, charged in the original charger with the original power adapter will pose a serious danger when charging. However, what is worth mentioning (as I...

    Battery Fire!

For those who think they're safe with a LiPo bag, it's worth watching these videos:

Watch out for US Coast Guard helicopters flying below 500 feet without warning

The Mach Loop (in the video) IS in the UK - in Wales!

    Lifthor Or Not

I use the same mount (but branded as Lyongtech and cheaper) and find it works well - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B099KJ1Z38/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's definitely not as robust as the Lifthor products but it's also only a fraction of the price. It comfortably...

Upgrade to the ALIENTECH DUO II: Leave Beginner Mode Behind.

Just because a rule doesn't make any sense to you doesn't mean that there isn't a perfectly good reason for it - it just means that you don't know what that reason is. The rule has nothing to do with populated areas, it's all about you maintaining situational awareness around your drone and...

    UK prosecution of drone pilot

I think that website information and a warning about legal responsibilities should be the first things in the user manual then new owners can't plead ignorance.

    UK prosecution of drone pilot

The picture could simply have shown the drone near the wing of the Hurricane as it was passed by it. There was nothing to suggest that it was flying in formation with it.

    UK prosecution of drone pilot

This article is from the Daily Telegraph in the UK today: A Derbyshire man has pleaded guilty to “endangering aircraft” after flying his drone “dangerously close” to a Second World War plane last year, in what is believed to be one of the first cases of its kind in the UK. The man, from Buxton...

    Aeroscope Question...

Do you mean phased arrays? Unless there’s also some kind of range finding involved, you can get DF (direction) from a single antenna, but not specific location. For location, you need more than one antenna to be able to give a number of radials to fix the location.

    Can you help

I’m confused as to how you got this to work. A standard charging cable has fewer wires (2) than a data cable (4) so just adding an adapter to it shouldn’t make any difference. See: https://www.dignited.com/50330/usb-data-cable-vs-usb-charging-cable/

    Aeroscope Question...

Those devices are unlikely to be owned by most people and would almost certainly need more than one to fix the position of the drone/base station unless they had a VERY widely spaced antenna array. Do you have a link to the information about the data being unencrypted?

Very disappointed by Litchi and Air 2S

And with any of the drones which use the Fly app, if you are out of range, the RTH option kicks in anyway.

No DJI Apps running in the background?

Worth bearing in mind that if you own an iPhone, rebooting doesn’t shut down background apps.
