I updated today and haven't had any issues. Also got a firmware update for the A2S after doing the SC update. Not sure if they are dependent upon eachother but it seemed too coincidental that I was only notified for an aircraft update after updating the SC.
I fly mine down to about ~15%. My initial set of batteries with my MA2 degraded quite a bit (~90%) in the first year with some starting to bulge, which surprised me. I flew a lot, but not everyday or anything. When I was done, I'd charge them up to 100%. Many times, they'd discharge...
A lot of that is just automation which doesn't require AI, just a command set and timers and a way of creating a "script" of a task. Much like how I have my Linux file server run a script every night to back up files if necessary and deal with adverse conditions like drives being down or...
I think there is a definite distinction between d (cinematography & videography & creative skill) and the rest. You can be an amazing pilot but have no skill at all in framing a good photo or video. If you can frame great shots and video, you can still be a horrible pilot.
Skill in flying...
Sometimes my A2S is stubborn about landing in my hand. Sometimes I release the stick and pull down again and it will come down. Sometimes pulling my hand away and then putting it back under the drone helps. One time I switched to sport mode.
This is an interesting development. I'm used to seeing this with the budget drone market where 3 or more companies sell the same drone but rebrand them and you can even switch the apps between them.
Not allowing 3rd party apps seems to be a feature exclusive to the more expensive DJI RC Pro (the new smart controller). It might be to entice users of more advanced capability to the more expensive controller. It may also be that the RC Remote (the cheaper controller with the integrated...
You can set different response curves for each mode. I generally fly in "P" mode. I have that set up with a very smooth response with a slower yaw rate and delay in stopping. If for some reason I want it to stop on a dime, I'll switch to one of the other modes.
For the 180 Panos, I don't like the distortion of the image that dji creates in-drone (Air 2S). Using lightroom to do Panos was a game changer for me.
What I do often is shoot the 180 pano and save the individual photos. In lightroom I will find a section I want and stich those together. I...
I don't know if his video of it is still up there, but he got an Avata FPV drone when it first came out. He was flying it around the Philly neighborhood he lives in over apartment building. He lost control of it and it crashed somewhere. He never could find it and had no idea what happened...
I still enjoy flying toy drones around my yard. Flying line of sight without an app for a first person view is a completely different skillset from navigating via FPV camera. It's also a different kind of thrill. Those skills also come in handy when flying "grown up" drones.
