Oh. I Almost forgot the benefit of being able to use the SC as a playback device. Pop the card in and connect to a 65” oled display for quick 4K preview or shot footage is part of my standard workflow. Much easier than using a laptop (especially given than I am iPad only).

my experience is the opposite of this. The feed on the SC seems more responsive and ”crisper” than the standard remote with an iOS device.

yes, I have two regular remotes that I never use and will be selling. Just wish I could use the Smart Controller on the Inspire 2. It is that good.

Both the police and DJI HQ have mounted aeroscope antenna throughout NYC. it can't pick you up if you are flying too low or below sight of the antenna but both entities are constantly logging flights. Active monitoring, like you experienced, is likely only done during special events.
