Air 2 (New version) Milky Way, galactic core

Sure the bigger sensor in the M3P would help. Again, I think drones realistically can't be used for anything other than Milky way/ landscape or widefield, when it comes to astrophotography, and even for that, if I had the tripod for my phone in that occasion I would have used that instead of the...

Air 2 (New version) Milky Way, galactic core

Great to see someone that shares the passion. I was so excited to see the Air 2 could do this as well

Air 2 (New version) Milky Way, galactic core

I found out mainly by first getting into simple long exposures with my phone, then gradually doing research on forums and seeing what all the other astrophotographers are doing, where everyone encourages the use of these software. Its truly a world of its own to discover.

Air 2 (New version) Milky Way, galactic core

(Mavic Air 2) - I already posted my first result of this a few months ago, but I decided to rework this picture to improve it; this time I cropped out the foreground, because due to slight movements in between the exposures the foreground became blurry in the final Sequator stack. Plus, at least...

Air 2 Milky way over the hills

Yes I did, still did not work very though

Air 2 Milky way over the hills

Sky masking in Sequator usually works well for my smartphone shots. However it came blurry this time because the drone moved slightly in between the exposures, so I had to layer a single sub exposre under the stacked result in gimp to show the clean foreground

Air 2 Milky way over the hills

Thanks. I made 30 8 seconds raw exposures at max ISO (6400). Stacked in Sequator and I used the sky layer feature and remove light pollution option. Since the drone moved slightly between the exposures, the foreground was blurry so I went to Gimp and layered the stacked result on top of one of...

Air 2 Milky way over the hills

This photo is the result of the stacking of 30 8 seconds exposures at 6400ISO in Sequator and then edited using GIMP, Lightroom and Snapseed. I didnt think it was possible with a drone, as usually you need a stable tripod, but I was very impressed to see the MA2 could be this stable. Of course I...

Air 2 Wide angle pano over Lago Albano (Italy), golden hour

The town on the hill is called Castel Gandolfo, at 376m asl, in the inner areas of the Latium region. This was shot using the wide angle option in the automatic panorama modes and edited in Lightroom. Here is the full resolution version:

Air 2 Super vibrant red sunset

Shot using the vertical panorama mode. In the original photo, the shades of red that made this sunset special were washed out. So despite being edited in Lightroom, it was to make it look closer to how it was in real life.

Air 2 Harmonization of cold and warm

This is one of my first attempts at combining exposures in Gimp to obtain better dynamic range. How did I do?

    Get stable long exposures

I'm trying to get a good multiple seconds exposure with my Air 2 , but I have to try over and over since the drone seems to rotate a slight bit during the shooting and introduces trailing in the shot. I tried tripod mode with 6-8 seconds but it still is hit or miss. Is there a reliable way to...

Air 2 Rose clouds in Roccaraso (Italy)

A few weeks ago I went to a small town in Italy called Roccaraso. I didn't stay there for a long time but still managed to see a beautiful sunset and take some pictures with my Air 2. This is my first time actually playing with the RAW files in Lightroom and I can really start to see the...

Does my mavic air 2 have rusted motors ?

I was thinking that maybe its because I usually leave the drone on a shelf in my room, rather than its bag, maybe there's been some sort of abrupt temperature variation or something else must have happened when opening and closing the window.
